For about the last eighteen months I’ve been playing a new acoustic guitar especially made for me by Roger Bucknall at Fylde Guitars. Roger first came up with the idea of designing an instrument exclusively to my own requirements and specifications about two years ago, and then after a number of rather involved discussions he set to work. I have to say that in my books the finished article is nothing other than spectacular. And I am certainly not the only one to hold such an opinion. In the latest issue of ‘Acoustic’ magazine, Mark Tucker who ‘road tested’ the guitar, gave it an almighty 99/100 mark. Here is an excerpt from the write-up:
“Wow, immediately I play this guitar it sings clearly and deeply. I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ve heard a guitar with quite this depth of tone. It’s suitable for almost any style of player, from singer/strummers to flat-pickers. This guitar performs exceedingly well, allowing excellent dynamics and expression, whatever your style. I really do like the finer attention to detail, and the way that aesthetics and functionality have been married together so successfully to produce what I feel is a very special instrument.”
